I have been training at the gym myself for over 10 years, so I know firsthand the joys of successes and the determination to overcome challenges. Working hard in the gym and finding so much fulfilment in my own training is what motivated me to start a career as a personal trainer, so I could use my enthusiasm for exercise to help other people find theirs!
After I started volunteering for the charity US Active, I was inspired by all the hard work they were doing and the amazing results they achieved and knew that I wanted to do something like that myself. I qualified as a Level 2 Gym Instructor in 2023, and then as a Level 3 Personal Trainer in 2024. I’ve trained many people of varying ages and abilities who each have different gym goals, which is my favourite part of what I do – I love a challenge!
As a student myself, I know the struggle of balancing a busy schedule with finding time to work on yourself. But going to the gym and regularly exercising is so beneficial to both your physical and mental wellbeing, particularly during stressful periods like exam season or the start of a new academic year. Regularly going to the gym has helped me find a community and has motivated me to continuously work on being the best version of myself, which is the reason I started working in this field.
I also write blogs for the Sound Mind and Body website, which you can check out here.

“Sophia offers a thoughtful, enjoyable approach to Personal Training to help me get the best out of my older, reluctant body. I particularly appreciate the understanding she gives me of which muscles I'm working and how the exercises are helping these groups of muscles.
