Born in the UK, I was raised under the Australian sun, where my early life was shaped by sport and a deep passion for vitality and a healthy lifestyle.
After moving to Dubai to finish school, I returned to the UK to gain my First Class degree in Pharmacology at Newcastle University.
During five years with the pharmaceutical and medical divisions of healthcare giants Pfizer and Boston Scientific, I sharpened my skills and deepened my industry knowledge. I also realised that my true calling lay within the broader fields of personal health and wellness.
Driven to make a more direct impact, I completed a Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training and a Masters in Nutritional Science and Practice.
Now back in Dubai, I’m living my dream as a freelance nutritional therapist and wellness architect, The NutriPT. I work virtually to empower clients around the world to make informed and enlightened choices about their health and wellbeing that will bring them positive and sustainable change.
My business is based on authenticity, confidentiality and honesty and my approach involves a pretty big toolkit!
This is my passion. I love it and am always astonished by the changes I see it make.
So, if you’re ready to start a journey towards the health, diet, and exercise routine that’s best for you, here I am! Ready to support you every step of the way.
The basis of nutritional therapy
Nutritional therapy is recognised as a complementary medicine and involves the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health, peak performance and individual care. As a Nutritional therapy practitioner rather than treating symptoms directly, Sophie uses a wide range of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to your symptoms and health concerns. It is relevant both for individuals looking to enhance their health and wellbeing and for those with chronic conditions wishing to work with her in collaboration with other suitably qualified healthcare professionals.
Each of Sophie’s clients receives a unique and personalized nutrition and lifestyle program with the option to add on an exercise plan. There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach. Sophie will never recommend nutritional therapy as a replacement for medical advice.
What a nutritional therapy session typically involves
Before the session you will receive a questionnaire to complete so Sophie can understand your healthy history and goals. During the initial consultation she will ask detailed questions about your health concerns, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, medical history, family history, lifestyle, levels of physical activity, use of medication and supplements and diet. Sophie will evaluate this information and use the extensive evidence base for nutritional science to develop a personalised, safe and effective nutrition and lifestyle regime. Using her Personal Trainer qualification, Sophie can also put together a personalised training program for you. Follow up consultations will be arranged as needed.
